The Institute is functioning under Laxmi Memorial Education Trust ®, (LMET),which was propounded in 1992 by the well-known industrialist and munificent philanthropist Dr A J Shetty. Today, LMET is able to establish the institutions of quality and excellence ranging from medicine to management. The Institute is guided by a Governing Council in its day-today affairs under the leadership of Sri Prashanth Shettty, B.E, as Vice President-LMET and Smt. Ashritha P. Shetty – Director, LMET of the Trust .

Mr Prashanth Shetty is a Mechanical Engineer and the alumnus of Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. Under the tutelage of Dr A J Shetty, Mr Prashanth Shetty is leading the group institutions in a big way. In fact, he is recognised as an renowned academic administrator with a right blend of “task and people orientation.” Because of his visionary leadership qualities, Laxmi Memorial Education Trust could establish and develop a multi-campus network of institutions offering medical, dental, paramedical, nursing, hotel management and business administration courses of excellence and quality.
Smt. Ashritha P Shetty is a Management Graduate from Mangalore University. During the last two decades, she has been handholding the Institutions offering Management, Nursing, Physiotherapy and Hotel Management programmes under the Trust. In order to understand the theory behind the management of social enterprises and nuances of education administration, she pursued Post Graduate Programme in Education Administration under Indira Gandhi National Open University.
Dr. T. Jayaprakash Rao is the Director of A.J. Institute of Management (AJIM), a renowned name in the field of Management Education. His specialized knowledge is ranging from Human Resource Management to Marketing to Cost and Management Accounting to Business Mathematics. He has served as Professor and Head of the Department of Commerce and Management for nearly 25 years at Shree Gokarnanatheshwara College, Mangalore. He is the recognized guide for MBA programme of Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi and Karnataka Open University, Mysore. He has taken up minor research projects of UGC, New Delhi and guiding 5 Doctoral researchers and 8 M.Phil scholars of different Universities. He has participated and organised many seminars and conferences of national stature during his long teaching service. He has rendered distinguished service to Mangalore University and Government of Karnataka as a member of Academic Council, Board of Studies, Board Of Examinations, Local Inspection Committee And Consultation Committee for both annual (new) scheme and credit based semester scheme of Mangalore University. He is the former secretary of Association of Mangalore University College Teachers’ and President of Mangalore University Commerce Teachers’ Association. In a nut shell, for the last three decades, he has been a true academician having the concern for student empowerment and a refined leader of teacher movement dedicated for creating competent and confident fellow teacher.
